Julia Jean-Baptiste est une artiste française née à Lyon en 1990. D’un père antillais et d’une mère lyonnaise, son adolescence est bercée par sa double culture et les soirées technos ! Fan de David Bowie, Julia Jean-Baptiste intègre en 2008 le casting de la Star Ac’ 8 avant d’être éliminée après un mois de compétition. En 2014, elle sort son premier single intitulé « confetti » mais au pied levé, elle remplace la chanteuse du groupe bordelais « pendentif » et part en tournée pendant une année. Parallèlement, Julia Jean-Baptiste en profite pour peaufiner ses compositions et bénéficie de l’aide de Dombrance, un remixeur hors pair, qui va l’accompagner dans ses productions. En 2016, Jérôme Echnoz (aka Tacteel) transforme pour Julia Jean-Baptiste le titre « la p’tite lady » en une incroyable ballade électro, tandis que Lionel Pierres du groupe « fortune » signe son single « nouvelle science ». Multi-instrumentiste, Julia Jean-Baptiste sort la même année son premier EP et un premier album intitulé « vertige exhaussé » en 2018. En 2021, son nouvel EP incluant les titres « solo » et « faux amours » est disponible dans les bacs et permet à l’artiste de repartir en tournée dans toute la France. En 2023, Julia Jean-Baptiste sort un nouveau album intitulé Cinérama porté par les titres Music Hall et Avant ou après.
Julia Jean-Baptiste is a French artist born in Lyon in 1990. Her father is from the West Indies and her mother is from Lyon. Her adolescence was rocked by her double culture and techno parties! A fan of David Bowie, Julia Jean-Baptiste joined the casting of Star Ac’ 8 in 2008 before being eliminated after one month of competition. In 2014, she released her first single entitled « confetti » but at short notice, she replaced the singer of the Bordeaux group « pendentif » and went on tour for a year. At the same time, Julia Jean-Baptiste took the opportunity to refine her compositions and benefited from the help of Dombrance, an outstanding remixer, who accompanied her in her productions. In 2016, Jérôme Echnoz (aka Tacteel) transformed the track « la p’tite lady » into an incredible electro ballad for Julia Jean-Baptiste, while Lionel Pierres from the group « fortune » signed her single « nouvelle science ».
